Found a turtle shell on a beach one day and I had to think it queer
How a turtle could come to lose a thing so obviously dear
As I pondered this I realized much to my dismay
That I knew just how that turtle felt on the day you walked away

Saw a rabbit’s foot hanging on a pole in a booth at the county fair
And I wondered how that rabbit felt and if he had a foot to spare
And as I made my way back home alone I really think I knew

Saw a hotrod at an auto show with a foxtail flying high
